If you have $5,000 burning a hole in your pocket, then Romanian headphone brand Meze Audio would like you to consider buying yourself a limited-edition pair of the company’s flagship Elite headphones with a distinct finish and style.
Meze Audio has been developing premium audiophile headphones and earphones since 2011 and the company fuses art and high-end audio technology in its latest headphones the Meze Epoque. These headphones pay homage to the age of Art Nouveau, with units of Epoque strictly limited to 100 units worldwide, creating a timeless tribute to “La Belle Epoque.”
Antonio Meze is the lead designer and founder of Meze Audio: “This particular style of art had significant importance throughout my creative journey, and I wanted to express my admiration for it through my own craft. Much like the artists of that time, we are inspired by shapes, textures and patterns from nature. We try to revive creativity and bring genuine artistic value to a world of mass production. Epoque is the perfect reflection of our artistic sensibilities.”
The headphones are made from CNC-milled aluminum and feature a sophisticated finish in shades of gray, inspired by the iconic architecture, paintings and designs that defined the Art Nouveau movement. Shapes resembling stems and flowers are hand-applied to the earcups and on the carbon fiber headband, giving the impression of an infinite flow of curved lines.
Meze claims that painting these intriguing headphones is a meticulous and unrushed process, with each frame taking more than a day to complete before its final assembly.
Pricing & Availability: Made with audiophiles, art enthusiasts and collectors in mind, as part of Meze Audio’s Art Gallery collection, the Epoque headphones are now available for $5,000 at mezeaudio.com and from selected Meze dealers.
